Stress...
Statistics show that stress levels within the general population are increasing. Lives are becoming ever busier with less and less time to get things done. It is little wonder that some people are struggling to keep their lives on track.
Stress left untreated can have a significant impact on our lives affecting work, health and relationships.

The stress response...
Often referred to as the fight or flight response, the stress response prepares the body for immediate action in order to protect itself. In evolutionary terms this would have been necessary to escape from predators to ensure survival. Modern stressors like economic issues, environmental issues and work issues do not compare to those evolutionary responses. Although we are rarely faced with such physical threats we are experiencing stress at a psychological level. As our mind perceives psychological stress as being a threat to the body, the fight or flight response is activated and the sympathetic nervous system remains active even though it was not utilised. The consequences of this means increased levels of adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol.
The good news is that clinical hypnotherapy can help deal with and manage stress levels. By identifying your triggers and working through them with a therapist you can learn to relax properly. By learning how to manage the stress in your life you will be able to improve the quality of your life before the stress manifests physically.
Prevention is always better than cure!
